You Don't Have to Figure This Out Alone
A small, closed group for adults ready to understand the patterns driving their relationships — and finally do something about them.
What This Group Is
This is not a support group where you take turns talking about your week. It is a structured, four-week psychoeducation and process group built around the clinical research and neuroscience behind anxious and avoidant attachment, people pleasing, boundary deficits, and low self-worth.
Each session combines evidence-based content with group discussion — so you leave not just with insight, but with language for what you’ve been experiencing and a framework for changing it.
Who This Is For
You might be someone who gives everything in relationships and still ends up feeling alone. Someone who keeps choosing the same dynamic with a different person. Someone who says yes when they mean no, apologizes for having needs, or measures their worth entirely by how other people respond to them.
This group is for adults who are done repeating the cycle and ready to understand what’s actually driving it.
Curriculum
Week 1 — Your Nervous System Is Running the Show
Why your body responds to relational threat before your mind catches up.
Week 2 — Why You Can’t Just Move On
The neuroscience of why inconsistent people are harder to leave than consistent ones.
Week 3 — Who You Become in Relationship
The beliefs and patterns that keep the cycle running — and why your judgment collapses under relational stress.
Week 4 — Building a New Pattern
Attachment patterns are learned. That means they can be unlearned.
Why Group Works
Group therapy offers something individual sessions can’t replicate. When you hear someone across the screen say “that’s exactly what I do” — something shifts. You stop feeling uniquely broken and start seeing the pattern for what it is: a human response to experiences that made connection feel unsafe.
The research consistently shows that group therapy produces outcomes equal to or better than individual therapy for relational and attachment-based concerns. The mechanism is exactly what you’d expect — the healing comes not just from the content, but from being truly seen by people navigating the same thing in real time.
I started offering group therapy because some of the most powerful moments in healing happen when someone across the room says "me too." That's something I can't replicate in a one-on-one session.

Each session is structured around a specific clinical theme — drawing from neuroscience, attachment research, and evidence-based frameworks that most people never encounter outside a graduate classroom. You'll leave each week with language for what you've been experiencing and tools for actually changing it.
This group is forming now. If you're currently a client and want to be considered for an upcoming cohort, bring it up in your next session. If you're new to Begin Life Counseling, complete the contact form and mention group therapy — we'll reach out to discuss fit and timing.
